CrowdControlStore.com is an fully functioning eCommerce site, designed to sell discounted and surplus product directly to the public. Crowd Control Store is a division of Visiontron, and operates as a seperate entity with it’s own management, where as Visiontron sells bulk and custom product to Major clients such as Sports Arenas, Banks, Airlines and Entertainment Venues.
As an eCommerce site there are a lot of issues to deal with. ie. Payments, Sales Tax, Shipping Schedules and Costs. To minimise duplicate processing effort, the web site was integrated with the Sage 300 ERP System to help manage shipping, inventory, and invoicing.
Security was also of much higher concern, requiring managing ReCaptcha, and Velocity throttles to prevent automated systems from running stacks of credit card numbers looking for security codes. Five years of observing attack patterns on this site is partly what led to the development of the Eye-P Security plugin.
